    The Cardinal Bernardin Early Childhood Center is a truly unique school where independence is encouraged, individuality is nurtured and active learning is cultivated.  Some unique characteristics of CBECC include:

    CBECC is one of the few schools in Chicago that offers Montessori learning in a Catholic environment, making us a school within a school. We serve children between the ages of 4 months through 9 years.

    Our classrooms are comprised of multi-aged children, spanning 3-3½ years.  When children enroll for the full 3-year cycle, the eldest children in the classroom are encouraged to teach the younger ones, providing them with leadership skills while giving the younger children an opportunity to learn from their peers.

    The children and families served by CBECC are culturally and economically diverse, and our educational programs strive to support the rich cultural, ethnic and economic diversity of our community.
