Ch-ch-ch Changes...to the NPN leadership team
Written by: Melanie Schlachter
Summer is winding down (even though fall is not quite yet in the air), kids are back in school, and NPN's fiscal year is coming to a close. WIth the change in seasons, the NPN leadership team is continuing to grow & expand. We're gearing up to offer even more amazing resources and programs to Chicago families, and thank our wonderful community for supporting us this past year as we've been able to deliver:
- New & improved Discussion Forum
- New & expanded Parent to Parent newsletter format
- 3 annual School Fair events, Chicago School Choice programs, & new School/Daycare "My Directory"
- Strollers First 5K & Festival, Pre-New Year's Eve Family Celebration, Wake Up & Boogie Down Family Festival, Spring Silent Auction, & the Summer Soccer Bash
- 30+ monthly events for families & grown ups
- and so much more!
With that, we'd like to thank Sarah Cobb for the last four years she has served as NPN's Executive Director. During that time she has overseen the organization’s branding and updated website development and relaunch, expansion of programs on the South Side, creation of the Developmental Differences Resource Fair, substantial growth in membership and resources, establishment of NPN’s social media platforms and the development of new events. Truly remarkable on all fronts!
It is my distinct honor to be assuming the Executive Director role, effective Oct. 1, 2013. I've so enjoyed working with Sarah as my mentor. I know I have big shoes to fill, and look forward to welcoming Sarah back to our Board of Directors, with Jennifer Guimond-Quigley as our incoming board president.
Surrounded by an incredible staff & volunteer team, board and member community its an exciting time for NPN to connect Chicago parents, as we've been doing for 33+ years.
