5 Playgrounds Picks & Features to Explore (Get Wet!)

Temps are heating up and the water features are calling your little ones! Are you ready to explore & play outside? There is no better way to kick off spring than a "trip" to a new Chicago Playground. NOTE: Depending on your child, the weather, and your mood - these playgrounds do NOT have a water features to fenagle.
5 Get-Wet Summer Play(ground) Picks - the perfect way to play(ground) out even the hottest days!
#1. Commercial Club Playground (1845 W. Rice St. (just north of Chicago and east of Damen))
Check out the…: Large serpent that winds up and down through the playground and the many, newer climbing structures. There is also a fieldhouse with a bathroom accessible and a water sprayer for hot days.
#2. Weisman Playground (901 W. Oakdale Ave. (1 block east of Sheffield and 3 blocks north of Diversey))
Check out: Water sprayers in the summer, perfect for little ones. The water spurts gently from a mosaic wall and from a worm like form that reaches up from the ground. This playground offers plenty of shade for that picnic lunch or break from the sun. A separate toddler area offers safe play away from the bigger kids.
#3. Skinner Playground (1331 W Monroe St. (Adams west of Racine))
Check out: Dragon climbing sculpture made out of fruits and vegetables, the many multi-age climbing structures, the beautiful blooming trees in the spring, the water sprayer, and the sandbox. Add in beautiful gardens, green space, baseball and basketball, and you can spend a day here.
#4. River Playground (5100 N. Francisco Ave. (between Lawrence and Foster, just west of California))
Check out: Unique play structures as well as the awesome water spray area for younger kids, next to the pool. A dog park, tennis, baseball and wooded paths complete your park experience.
#5. Buttercup Playground (4901 N Sheridan Rd (Between Lawrence and Foster, a few blocks west of Lake Shore Drive))
Check out: Brand new structures for all ages, as well as the grassy and soft surface mounds for climbing and pretending you are a turtle, just like the stone sculpture in the playground. There is also a water sprayer for staying cool.
