We have on the go Chicago’s top picks for this weekend - July 21st & 22nd - events that are just perfect for your family's city adventures!

This weekend is packed with summer festivals that are perfect for a family outing.  Street festivals are not just for drinking beer and listening to cover bands.  Most of the city's best festivals have dedicated kids areas, and this weekend's festivals have everything from pony rides to balloon twisters.

#1 Sheffield Garden Walk

  • Sheffield Ave. (between Webster & Belden)
  • Saturday & Sunday, 12-10pm
  • $7 suggested donation
  • All Ages

Kids have their own "corner" where they can do more than walk. They can play in the moonwalk, be a conductor on the pig train, go for an adventure on the kiddie ferris wheel, pet various animals at the petting zoo, and ride a pony. 

#2. Square Roots Festival 

  • 4400 Lincoln Ave.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 12-10pm
  • $10 suggested donation
  • All ages

Old Town School of Folk Music and Lincoln Square have teamed up to create this music lovers festival.  Enjoy more than 35 acts including music, dance parties, jams and family activities.

#3. Summer on Southport

  • 3700 N. Southport Ave.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 11am-10pm
  • $5 suggested donation
  • All ages

Enjoy a delicous array of food, live entertainment on three stages and a dedicated kids area with a bounce house, face painting and more.

#4. Burger Fest

  • Belmont and Damen
  • Saturday & Sunday, 11am-10pm
  • $6 suggested donation
  • All ages

Taste tantalizing and mouth-watering burgers from some of Chicago's finest restaurants, enjoy live music and a dedicated kids area.

.#5. Milwaukee Avenue Art Festival

  • Milwaukee Ave. (between Belden and Sacramento)
  • Saturday & Sunday, 12-11pm
  • $5 suggested donation
  • All ages

Stroll among the creations of more than 300 artist, rock out to live music on three stages and enjoy a pleathora of family activities.
