Shine: A ray of light on infertility announces Launch Open House

Written by: Katie O'Connor

Katie O’Connor is a Chicago-native, mom, wife, only daughter, infertility activist, and founder of Shine Chicago.

Her infertility journey started with a non-existent period, to tests, meds, and monitoring, to failed IUI’s, to the first IVF cycle, which included periods extreme hi’s and low’s to finally hearing those words “you are pregnant”, and overwhelming joy with the birth of her daughter!

She decided to start this community and write about her story and infertility, to help other women going through infertility not feel alone, and to help break the silence of infertility.

About Shine:

Shine is a ray of light on infertility.  Through experience, passion, and education, our mission is to provide a place of comfort, community, and support for women living with infertility.  Shine was born from the founder’s personal journey through infertility and grew out of her dream to create a place for women and their families to come together to share, experience, learn, and celebrate our unique challenges in creating the families we all so desperately desire.

Shine is both an in-person and an on-line community where women come together and support each other through their infertility journeys.  It is also a place to feel empowered through information gathered from guest speakers from the infertility community.

Membership gives you access to our private community sessions (both open discussion, and guest speakers) as well as specially negotiated discounts at select local businesses (including the Dailey Method and Urban Oasis and more!).  Meetings are held in 8-weekly sessions on Tuesdays at 7:15pm.   Reserve your spot for the next 8-week session, which kicks off Tuesday, July 10th!
