Moms in Business - A Night of eating, drinking, laughing, & networking
Written by: Cindy McCarthy
May 16th was the inaugural meeting of Neighborhood Parents Network’s newest group, Moms In Business. The group was the brainchild of Katherine McHenry, owner of Building Block Toys (one of my favorite kid-sized businesses in Chicago). She wanted to create a way for mommy entrepreneurs and other moms in business to share best practices, connect and support each other and explore ways to be more successful in business and at home.
The event was fun, filling and fruitful. I enjoyed seeing some old friends and meeting new likeminded businesswomen. From social media to balancing work and your personal life as a mother, the discussions were packed with funny stories and great tips.
Jodi Hamilton, owner of Dream Dinners on Damen and mother of three, hosted our group, and her team made sure none of us left hungry! Thank you Jodi for the seconds…and third helpings!
Check out the great photos from our inaugural event - thank you to Julia Franzosa Photography! Special thanks to GGI - Great Guys Inc. for their generous Print & Design gift certificate for the raffle.
I can’t wait for the next Moms In Business event at Bottle & Bottega on June 7th where in addition to networking with other inspiring women, we can find our inner artist and create a painting.
