Walt Whitman created one of the most celebrated youth choirs in the world when he formed the rollicking, roof-raising and powerful Soul Children of Chicago. During the past 23 years, Whitman has used music as a catalyst to develop the minds, hearts and souls of more than 1,000 children, who have performed in the group. The special performance takes place during and in celebration of Black History Month. Two decades after its formation, Walt Whitman’s Soul Children of Chicago continues to serve the community as a non-denominational non-profit educational organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of our youth.
