Join us and learn about mindful parenting over your lunch hour. Dr. Debra Kissen will coach parents on dealing with stress, anxiety, meltdowns and tantrums to develop positive interaction with their child by incorporating mindfulness activities into everyday routines.
Dr. Kissen will share tips and tools to assist attendees with:
- - Letting go of worries and ruminating so you can be more present with your child
- - Enhancing your ability to focus and engage in the present moment versus feeling distracted and overwhelmed
- - Practical user friendly exercises that even busy parents can utilize to develop a mindfulness practice in contrast to living in a mindless haze

Dr. Kissen is the clinical director of the Light On Anxiety Treatment Center and specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and related disorders. She is the author of the Panic Workbook for Teens and is an active contributor to The Huffington Post, where she shares information on empirically supported treatment for anxiety and related disorders. Dr. Kissen has completed advanced training in CBT for body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including skin picking, hair pulling and nail-biting. She also has a special interest in the principles of mindfulness and their application for anxiety disorders.
