With playgrounds, parks, museums and libraries at our fingertips, we city dwellers are lucky that we don’t have to travel far to enjoy engaging activities with our kids.
But what about when you have only 30 minutes, you’re not motivated to load everyone in the car, or you want your little ones to burn off some energy before naptime? Consider an urban hike, beginning right outside your door.

When my daughter, Evie, was born in the winter of 2006, I quickly realized how isolating it can be to have a baby. Add to that the fact that she was a spitter-upper, a loud crier AND it was a freezing cold February and I thought I was going to lose my mind! Thank goodness for my NPN New Moms Group. Meeting other women who were going through similar changes, challenges and successes saved me in many ways. These women were integral to my survival for Evie’s first year and I love that I s...Posted on July 12, 2011 at 3:13 PM
