It was just a matter of time. The bitter cold and snow finally made it to Chicago leaving us indoors or dying to break free from the monotony of the living room floor. Only so many blanket forts can be built before you’re ready to lose it. It’s ok.
Here are some ideas if you’re looking for inspiration.
Learn: Toddler Takeover at the Chicago Children’s Museum. Big kids are back in school so it’s time for the little ones to get out and run the palace! Tons of fun programming for the ...Posted on January 06, 2015 at 11:26 AM
I probably did more reading while I was pregnant than I did in my four years of undergrad. I became obsessed with being the best parent that I could be, or least obsessed with figuring out what that was. Just before my kiddo turned one, I made a mental list of rules that I fully believed that I could follow. I’m not necessarily a big fan of resolutions. Typically, I feel that if you put a label on a self-improvement at the beginning of the year, you’ll surely fail in 4-6 weeks. This, I know based on the shear number of people at my gym at 6am mid-January vs. mid-February.
I like quotes. I like it when people far smarter than myself, smash some words together and create something that could inspire for a year in the length of a sentence. So I’m going to pick a few of the more global motivat...Posted on January 01, 2015 at 10:00 AM

We hear it as early as Halloween....the grandparents already asking what your kids want for the holidays when all you can think about is gaggle of toys that has already taken over your house (and the amount of toys headed your way from aunts and uncles). Yeah, in my experience there's no way to really go toy-free, nor would you want to but there are some other GREAT gifts that grandparents can purchase that don't take up anymore space on your living room floor. As a self-admitted membershi...Posted on December 16, 2014 at 7:00 AM
We’re so busy during the holiday season, it’s sometime hard to brainstorm thoughtful gifts for the wonderful people that care for you child(ren) on a daily basis. We scoured the forums and interviewed teacher friends of our own and asked them what their favorite holiday gifts from students have been. Here's our list of the top most commonly mentioned gifts.

The holidays are upon us and this time of year always makes me think about how fortunate I am....for really everything. I have a great job, a great family and a wonderful city that has welcomed me into it's tight-knit village of parents from all walks of life. Of course, that reminds me of all of the less fortunate, particularly the families that live here and the organizations dedicated to helping them. If you're looking to donate, volunteer (with or without the kids) or support an organ...Posted on November 24, 2014 at 7:00 AM
