Cold early mornings produce lots of cozy baked goods in my house. After watching Dora the Explorer, both my kids beg to bake chocolate chip cookies almost every morning. To add a seasonal healthy twist to chocolate chip cookies, I use pumpkin instead of butter and whole wheat flour instead of white flour. These heavenly cookies are moist and delicious!
I like to turn baking into an activity for everyone in the family to participate in. My son stirs the ingredients until his arm ti...Posted on October 01, 2015 at 8:00 AM
When I walked in the door one recent evening, my kids were ready for an activity! My son suggested we bake sugar cookies! With the holidays right around the corner, this is the perfect sweet treat! My wise four-year-old suggested steak (his dad loves steak)! To add my healthy twist, I turned the sirloin into kabobs with zucchini, red onio...Posted on June 14, 2012 at 6:00 AM
I am a health nut. I run for fun, practice yoga in odd positions, shop at farmer’s markets for hours, eat and cook healthy. You can imagine my disappointment when my two-year-old finally started having an opinion, which was terrific; but not so terrific when his opinion involved eating only French fries and pizza.
As a baby, my son would gobble up green peas from a jar. He liked mashed bananas and smashed sweet potatoes. Around his second birthday, he started saying “no.” No to th...Posted on June 06, 2012 at 6:00 AM
