I am a wedding and social event planner who loves a good reason to host a little party.  Being creative with ideas of things to do and share with my son is very important as we are a little family of 2.  From beaches and movies in the parks to museums and hot cocoa rides on the el in the Winter.  We love and appreciate our surroundings and the wonderful opportunities for fun, inspiring life in Chicago.

Hello Lovies!  Valentine's Day is such a fun holiday to share with children. There are so many darling ideas out there it's hard to choose!  We decided to go Sweet & Simple and share some of our favorite inspirations with you.

1. Decorations.  Making cute mailboxes for the family to leave cards in is such a fun idea.  Create a little centerpiece from some simple items or even carnations!

2. Get Crafty.  Break out the craft supplies and have a party making valentines for each other!

3. Treats.  How easy are these cookie pops?  All you need is ready to go cookie dough, some pop sticks from a craft store, and a heart cutter! Decorate with sprinkles and icing tubes.

4. Sip.  Smoothies and shakes taste even better in pretty bottles!  Save your glass bottles and decorate with strips of paper, ribbon bands or washi tape.

Host a little Valentine Playdate with ANY of these ideas. Spread out the fun - decorate one day and craft the next. Make the most of the days leading up to the 14th.  For more fun holiday ideas we love, stop in and visit the NPN Pinterest Valentine's Day Boardfamilyfun.go.com and Babble.com.
