Story Time Extravaganza - Read for the Record
Written by: Kimberly Bares
Story times are the perfect way to enjoy an hour with your little ones! I am so excited to be a reader at Building Blocks Toy Stores' story time week in honor of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record! We hope to see you one day next week at a Building Blocks in Wicker Park (2130 W. Division) – please pledge to read and join millions of other concerned parents.
Building Blocks will donate $15 to Jumpstart on behalf of each child our local leader reads to at the events. Thank you to Katherine McHenry, owner of Building Blocks, and NPN Moms in Business volunteer for making this happen!
Reading is one of the easiest activities to do with your child – starting as soon as they are born. They love the sound of your voice and are captivated by stories at any age (even if all your baby wants to do is eat the book). Watching my 4 year old daughter learn new words, ask questions about the story we are reading, and select her favorite books each night as we get ready for bed time, is remarkable. We hope you will join us for these daily story times and keep reading with your little ones each day.
Building Blocks Toy Store is hosing a series of reading events from Monday - Friday, Oct 3rd-7th in conjunction with the national campaign Jumpstart's Read for the Record. Each event is one hour. Snacks and refreshments will be served after the story time and guests are encouraged to stay and get to know each local leader.
