The "Successful" Child: Developing Persistence and Independence @ Loyola University Lakeshore Campus

Elementary School Parents & Kids

It is never easy to see a child give up before they've tried something new.  Those skills a child learns in school (and at home)---persistence, self-confidence, self-management --are all part of being a "successful child" and becoming a successful adult.

At Nurturing Wisdom's FREE event with NPN, we'll focus on strategies for focusing attitudes of persistence and independence in young learners and to answer these questions:

What is a growth mindset and why is it important?

How do we encourage children to embrace new and challenging tasks?

How can praise be used effectively?

What "common sense" parenting tools actually backfire when it comes to changing attitudes towards learning and overcoming obstacles?

Join us for another fun, engaging, interactive event!

This event is open to all adults...NPNers and nonNPNers. Please spread the word to your community!

Also, stay tuned for details on our November event:  Let's Talk Turkey with an Educational Consultant.  We'd ask that questions you'd like to have addressed be submitted in advance. This will be an informal roundtable event.
