In this two part session, PREP will delve into the topics of:
-- What to do now that Chicago Public Schools notification letters have been sent out?
And
-- What changes are on the horizon for CPS?
We will discuss what do you do when your child isn’t accepted into a CPS selective enrollment school and is waitlisted for magnet schools. Did you know there is a little known process that you can use if you weren’t accepted into the school of your choice? We will talk about the admissions criteria and the infamous “tier” system. We will also give parents tips on how to “work the waitlist."
We will also share information on the "hot topics" in CPS-- longer school day, teacher evaluations, and full day Kindergarten. We will discuss what you can do as a parent to advocate for your child and make sure that your voice is being heard.

PREP, Primary Readiness Enrichment Program, is a comprehensive program dedicated to preparing both preschoolers and their parents for the application, testing and enrollment process for public and private schools in the city of Chicago.
Through a series of information sessions, we provide parents with the tools necessary to maximize their
child’s success in gaining admission into the school of their choice. Our parent seminars are designed to empower parents and provide invaluable information on educational options for their children in the city of Chicago.We also offer a 12-week Student Session which helps prepare young students to perform their best on standardized tests for admission into the kindgergarten programs in both CPS Selective Enrollment Elementary Schools and private schools. At PREP we do not teach the test. We teach fundamental concepts and provide test taking skills that will allow your child’s natural abilities to shine through and lay a foundation for learning that will last a lifetime.
