Outdoor Movie Night (Public)
Owner: Outdoor Movie Dad
Welcome Movie Fans!
When Chicago's warmer summer weather allows it, we set up an outdoor movie night each month to take advantage of the season (generally May - Sept). In October, when it gets a bit too cold for movies, we set up a haunted house and pumpkin patch.
The lawn space opens early for people to spread out their picnic blankets, mingle with their friends and neighbors, and grab a bite to eat. Before show time - we grill out and BBQ for a few hours while we wait for dusk. People are encouraged to bring their own spread - but we supply burgers, brats, hot dogs, soda, water, and tons of good candy movie. (There is a $8 fee for the movie to help offset the cost of each month's movie license. All of the grill food, soda, candy, and popcorn are on the house!)
The events are BYOBlankets and BYOB.
At dusk, we fire up the industrial sized popcorn machine, the lawn speakers, and the projector to start the movie!
We've got a great location in Ravenswood for our outdoor cinema. Ravenswood Elementary School has allowed us to use their parking lot - so no problems hunting for a space! The movie itself will be on the large lawn space of Bethany Church - 4250 North Paulina Street. Follow the scent of butter melting on movie popcorn if you can't find us.
Find out more details at http://www.meetup.co...r-Movie-Nights/
See you at the Movies!

Parents Of Preemies's Description
The Parents of Preemies group is for all parents whose children were born prematurely. This group will be a way for parents to connect and form relationships with other parents who are going through the same experiences. Social events will be planned to get parents of preemies together with or without their babies. All events planned for preemies will be in a setting that addresses the special needs of premature babies. However, if your baby is still in the NICU, has serious restrictions, or you are just not ready to bring them out, you can attend all events without your little one! Educational events will also be planned to provide the latest information about life in the NICU and beyond. Most events will be for parents who have premature children under the age of two but all are welcome! Angela is the new volunteer chair for the Parents of Preemies group. Angela lives in Lincoln Park with her husband and her son who was born on June 15, 2012. Her son was born prematurely at 30 weeks. After spending 8 weeks in the NICU, Angela decided that parents needed more opportunities to interact with other people in the same situation and she is very excited to begin this group! If you have questions or any ideas for events and educational topics please email Angela, the volunteer chair at preemies@npnparents.org Parents Of Preemies

Unicoi Art Studio's Description
Unicoi Art Studio has been providing exceptional art activities for kids since 1999. We were voted the best art classes in the city for 2008 and 2009, by the parents of Chicago (Nickelodeon's Parents Picks Award). Unicoi’s mission is to “draw” out the imagination in every child, with projects designed to be informative, engaging and fun for children ages 3-15. We use premium quality artist materials, so at a young age the students experience rich colors, unusual textures and a variety of unique materials. Our teaching philosophy is for children to be able to use their creativity to explore the subjects that interest them and for our teachers to provide the safe and structured environment to support their exploration. We deeply value our roles as art educators and these values are expressed by our passion towards both children and art. -

Elementary School Parents & Kids 's Description
Once sleep, potty and preschool issues are over, do you find yourself needing support and information on issues pertaining to your older child? The co-chairs for this group are Bernadette Pawlik and Mary Dombrowski. We're ALWAYS looking for any/all of the following: ideas for new programs, expert speakers, businesses which would like to donate raffle items to be raffled off at programs, ways of getting the word out to parents who are not NPN members and new volunteer coordinators for Elementary School Plus. If you're interested in contributing/participating, just send an e-mail to elemparents@npnparents.org. You can also post a new topic on the group discussion on this page. -
