Does parenting sometimes feel like more stress and less joy? Are you looking for ways to be more mindful of being, well, mindful with your children and family?
Join us for an interactive seminar on a variety of mindfulness techniques parents can use to reduce stress and build more joy into family life. Erin Leyba, LCSW, PhD will be talking about a variety of research-supported mindfulness techniques that parents can use to:
- * Stay calm and centered
- * Notice and adjust their reactions to challenging situations
- * Become more in-tune to moments of joy
- * Understand personal strengths and triggers
- * Cope with stress
- This seminar will focus specifically on how parents can easily apply mindfulness tools to strengthen and deepen relationships with their children aged 0 to 6 years old.
Erin Leyba, LCSW, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Oak Brook, IL who specializes in individual and couples counseling for parents of young children. She has been a presenter for Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), The Council on Social Work Education, Illinois Association of School Social Workers, School Social Workers of America, and a variety of parent groups. Dr. Leyba writes about parenting with presence and joy at her blog www.thejoyfix.com. She also writes the Joyful Parenting blog for PsychologyToday.com.
