Description Green Mama Cafe: Brainfood and community for parents

The Green Mama Café: Brainfood and community for the parents of the littlest green people
(Tuesdays*, 10:30- 11:30 a.m., February 3 - May 5, 2009) (*No class March 17)
An interactive group for parents, especially new mothers, intended to foster community and provide support for families pursuing green lifestyles. The series is aimed particularly at parents with children 0 to 3 years (and expectant mothers). Sign up for all 13 sessions or attend individual classes! Single-Session Cost: $5.

Toddler Time (Add-on for members of The Green Mama Café)
Attend a fun, semi-structured playgroup with members of the Nature Museum's early childhood staff that takes place in the North Gallery alongside the Green Mama Café. For children ages 1 to 3. Cost: $5 per child.

BRAINFOOD ITEMS

March 31: Feeding baby better: introducing first foods, making your own baby food, what foods to buy organic & where to find affordable organics. Special guest: Dori Boneck from Maddy’s Organic Meals.

April 7: Going green/saving green. Tips on how to save money and resources at home.

April 14: Green and organized. Does your home look like a two year old decorated it? Tips for getting yourself and your home green and organized. Special guest: professional organizer Maureen Gainer.

April 21: Green birthday parties. How to celebrate more but consume less with birthday parties. (Including tips on hot to avoid toxic toys.)

April 28: Eat your sunscreen! Advice on finding safer wipes, soaps, creams, and sunscreen. Tips on what to buy and what to make & how nutrition can help.

May 5: Farewell potluck. Feeding families better: how to raise organic kids on a budget; & a recipe exchange. Special guest: green chef Ellen King. (Bring something yummy to share.)
